java-programmer, java applet signing Hi all,
I have an applet that needs to be signed before deploying it.I have
already obtained a digital id from verisign, imported into my keystrore
and I can sigh the applet.
I however have not able to export the certificate to a file so that I
can put it in the build scripts ,enabling anyone on any machine to
simply check out code and certificate ,and build it.
Has anyone experience regarding this?any help will be appreciated.

Others may be able to clarify for sure, but I do not believe
that a digital certificate is something that is *ever* intended
to be distributed as it is! (Would you give photocopies of
your handwritten signature to people so they could copy it
whenever needed?)

I suggest instead that you provide *instructions* in the distributable
that tell your (developer) users how to create their own 'self signed'
certificate. That is all they should need in order to build and run
your applet. (..and if they insert SpyWare into it, they can sign
their *own* gosh-darn name to it!)
