java-programmer, Alioth CVS Read-Only (was: Re: svn repository) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Maybe we should ask to lock the Alioth's CVS repository of pkg-java
project, so we'll be sure everybody use the svn!

I Cc'd debian-admin but I'm not sure this is the right place. I already
send a mail about the wiki there but never got a response. And I'm not
sure they manage Alioth... If someone can Cc to a better location...

Thanks

I'll take care of this. Currently all allowed writers are specified in
CVSROOT/writers. I'll backup that file and then empty it, thus blocking
all access to the repostory.

I'll make the change in 20 minutes (18:00 UTC), migrate the respository
from CVS to Subversion, and then announce when the new repository is
ready.

cheers,
Charles

Well, I made the directory read-only by changed CVSROOT/writers, but
that file is regularly regenerated by some cron job.

Arnaud, perhaps you could file a request at Alioth to make the CVS
repository read-only.

Will report on the migration in a separate email.

cheers,
Charles
